A.R.Rahman misses out the Oscar

Music Maestro AR Rahman could not win the Oscars Awards this year. He was nominated for ‘127 Hours’, directed by ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ director Danny Boyle. He lost the award to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network.

On the occasion, AR Rahman and Florence Welch performed ‘If I Rise’. In 2009, AR Rahman brought glory to India by winning the prestigious Oscar for the movie, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
In the same year, AR Rahman won the BAFTA and this year too he was nominated for ‘127 Hours’. Rahman was also nominated for his music in 127 Hours, but lost out to The Social Network at this year's Golden Globe awards.

Vidya getting engaged to Siddharth

Finally, Vidya Balan has got the man of her dream. She is in love with the head honcho of UTV motion pictures, Siddharth Roy Kapur. Both of them are together for sometime and it is believed that Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy will soon engage rings.

A top industry source informs, "Vid and Sid are close. And in the past weeks they have been spotted spending quality time with each other on two occasions. The first time was when they reportedly stayed back after an awards night in Singapore and more recently when they were photographed in casual attire at a beach destination in India.''

Both are neighbors and they are spotted together at numerous places. Siddharth is not open about his relationship with Vidya as he is waiting for settlement with his first wife.

However, Vidya's secretary has rubbished all this news. He said, "Vidya has to first know Siddharth well enough to marry him. One doesn't necessarily marry people one is friendly to or has dinners with.

Katrina Kaif to sing in ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’

Katrina Kaif will now try a new skill. She will sing for the film, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. Katrina is still polishing her Hindi and reluctant to sing but pop-singer Ali Zafar convinced her to croon for the film.

In the past, Katrina has lent her voice to nursery rhymes album, composed by AR Rahman. A source revealed, “Katrina was not really in the mood to try out something new. She has just started to get a grasp over her spoken Hindi. It was Ali who convinced her.”

MBKD is a romantic comedy featuring Preity Zinta, Parikshit Sahni, and Kanwaljit Singh, besides Katrina, Imran and Ali Zafar. Interestingly, John Abraham will be seen in a cameo role.

Bipasha Basu at war with Deepika Padukone

Rohan Sippy’s ‘Dum Maro Dum’ is again hitting the news for all wrong reasons. Bipasha Basu is fighting it out with Deepika Padukone for the poster of the film which has only Deepika Padukone grooving to the super-hit song, ‘Dum Maro Dum’. Bips is not happy that the main stars of the movie were neglected and only Deepika was featured in the poster.
A source from the production house said, "There were various debates about how the first look poster of the film will be made.

Finally it was decided that rather than having Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu on the posters of the film it would be nice to have Deepika who features in the item song `Dum Maro Dum'.

When Bipasha learnt about the poster she was not very happy and called Rohan Sippy  who explained his promotional strategy to her."

When contacted Rohan Sippy said, "Deepika is doing a title song of the film. On the teaser poster you can hardly recognise Deepika.

It's brand Dum Maaro Dum and Bipasha is the female lead of the film. But I guess that's what happens with guest numbers and with iconic songs."

On the other hand, Bipasha denied any dispute and said, "I was the first one to tweet about the first look of DMD because I loved it and am super excited about our film.

Asin to wear a bikini

South sensation who has made a sizzling Bollywood debut with ‘Ghajini’ is in urgent need of a big success. For Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull 2’, she has shed her next-door girl image and gone really sexy. According to reports, Asin will don a swimsuit in 'Housefull'.

Asin needs to look too hot in the movie and for that Sajid has asked her to sport a swimsuit. The movie will be shot in the exotic locales of Italy and Greece. It will also have some beach scenes.

After the debacle of ‘London Dreams’, Asin is trying to revive her career in Bollywood with Salman Khan starrer ‘Ready’ and Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull’.

Hrithik in Farah Khan’s next movie

After casting Shahrukh Khan in blockbusters ‘Main Hoon Na’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’, Farah shifted her loyalities to Akshay Kumar and cast him in her film, ‘Tees Maar Khan’ unfortunately, the film doomed at the box office and Farah felt heartbroken. To spin the wheeel of success again, she has signed Hrithik Roshan for her next film.

Farah moves towards Hrithik after she was choosen one of the judges of the dance reality show, ‘Show Me You Can Dance’ where Hrithik is one of the judges. Reportedly, the film will be co-produced by UTV and her company Three’s Company.

Farah has finished up with the first half of the film and working on the second half. Farah Khan said, “I will think of casting once the dialogue draft is ready.”

Shilpa goes gaga over Priyanka

Shilpa Shetty is all praises for Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra for her power-packed performance in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘7 Khoon Maaf’.

"Watched 7 Khoon maaf,las night Well directed@priyankachopra rockd,really complex role but u did a gr8 job effortlessly,U go girl,all d best (sic)," Shilpa posted on her Twitter page.

In the film, Priyanka Chopra plays a woman who craze for true love and in search of pure love, she gets married seven times. Unsatisfied with her husbands attitude and nature, she kills each of them.

Saif Ali Khan walks out of ‘Race 2’

Abbas Mustan ‘Race’ has given Saif Ali Khan an ample scope to flaunt his hidden acting talent. The film has given a new dimension to Saif’s character. He rose to fame with this film but now he has refused to sign ‘Race 2’. Abbas Mustan is keen to have their main lead hero Saif Ali Khan on board but he turned down the offer.

Saif was busy with Prakash Jha’s ‘Aarakshan’ and soon after finishing it, he will start his home production project with Homi Adjania. Filmmaker Abbas Mustan has wrapped shooting ‘Players’ in New Zealand and in touch with Saif for his approval.

The actor has two more reasons to walk out of the project. An insider says, "Saif has gone through the entire script and did not find his character exciting enough. It is also believed that the presence of John in `Race 2` has made him uncomfortable".

Dabangg’s director willing to work with Shahrukh Khan

If you score sixer in one film then you are the boss. Every big star goes crazy to work with you. Something similar happened with the ‘Dabnagg’ director Abhinav Kashyap. After the super-duper hit of ‘Dabangg’, Shahrukh Khan expressed his desire to work with him and Abhinav was more than happy to cast King Khan in his home production.

Salman Khan was planning to make ‘Dabnagg 2’ with Abhinav but when he came to know that the director has shifted loyalties to his arch rival Shahrukh Khan, he set his mind not to sign Abhinav as the film director.

Highly excited Abhinav met Shahrukh Khan at his residence and both had a fruitful discussion. It is now heard that Sohail Khan would make a comeback into direction with ‘Dabangg 2’.

Jiah secretly marries to a foreigner

According to the latest buzz, actress Jiah Khan is secretly married to a foreigner but she is not ready to accept the rumor. Jiah denies her marriage report saying it is a stupid gossip. Jiah who was away from headlines for a long time has hit the news for all wrong reasons.

Jiah Khan has termed the rumour as ‘stupid gossip’. This is what she posted on her Twitter page, “'Stupid gossip doing the rounds that I'm married  now! LOL where do they get this stuff from!!! I can assure u I'm faaaar from getting married!!”

Jiah Khan who made sensational Bollywood debut opposite megastar Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Nishabd’ was seen in ‘Ghajini’, 'Housefull'.

Ranbir refuses to work Deepika

‘Wake Up Sid’ director Ayaan Mukherjee wanted to cast Deepika Padukone in his second directorial project as Ranbir Kapoor the lead hero but the actor straightway refused to share screen space with his ex-flame.

While Deepika Padukone in an interview said that she is open to work with Ranbir but it is Ranbir who feels discomfort acting alongside with his ex.

In the film, the lead actress’s character resemblance to Deepika in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and so the director was keen to have her on board.

Says Mukherji, "It is not true. Speculation is pointless right now because the truth is that I am still in the process of writing the script of my film.

Only when the script is finalised, will we decide who suits the part best, and then approach that actress with an offer."

Kangana and R.Madhavan's lip-lock

After smooching Vidya Balan in ‘Guru’, Madhavan has kissed again. He has smooched Kangana Ranaut in the movie, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. In a scene, Madhavan was shown smooching Kangana lying on bed.

Explains director Aanand L Rai, "The sweetness of the scene required to be justified with a kiss. It's a funny romantic situation, where Manu falls for Tanu and wants to marry her."

However, Madhavan denies kissing in the film, "I have not kissed in the movie!"

In the film, he plays a London returned guy in search of a bride in India. He finally falls in love with a small town girl, Kangana.

SRK celebrating Valentine’s Day in jail

Lover boy Shahrukh Khan will be celebrating Valentine’s Day in jail. Surprise, King Khan will be shooting in a jail during the lover’s day as he thinks there is no point celebrating a particular as lover’s day.

Apart from King Khan, Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone thinks it is a fashion to celebrate Valentine’s day.

Aamir Khan will be in Berlin on that day. Deepika will be shooting in Bhopal. Katrina will also be busy with her shoot. Bebo won’t be with Saiffu dear.

Well, it seems Bollywood celebrities are in no mood to celebrate the day.

Munni and Sheila and fight it out on popularity chart

Munni Badnam Hui conceptualised by Lyricist and Music Director Lalit Pandit has created an up-roar in the Hindi Film industry. With a figure many women would envy and a great sense of rhythm Munni sways to the music in a manner that would leave the audience thumping their feet to the beat of the music. As for Malika Arora Khan this was the first time that she was seen on a home production. The thumka’s along with the nasal voice of the singers Mamata Shankar and Aishwarya gave the song masala to take Munni to the heights it has reached.

Sheila on the other hand a product of Tees Maar Khan is a dance that the Hindi Film audience is going to remember for a long time. This song is choreographed by Farah Khan and has the audience captivated by the rhythmic movement of Katrina Kaif.

Tantalizing moves catchy words and lovely figures of both Munni in Munni badnam Hui and Sheila in Sheila ki jawani leaves the audience enthralled. Music director Vishal and Shekhar along with the Lyricist Vishal Dadlani have combined English words and music to give Sheila the correct spice of life. The voices both of Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani, gives an out of the world feeling which helps the audience sway to the rhythm.

All choreographers pick both these songs for dance competitions as they too are aware of the great fan following of these two item numbers and expect a major vote from the audience too. The difference of the two films is that the character Munni is an item girl and not the heroine in the film while Shiela is the heroine in her film.

Sheila correctly mentions in the song that she is here to “drive you crazy”, and although she is very sexy she teases saying “Main tere haath na aani”. Munni too on the other hand teases saying “le Zandu balm hui darling tere liye”. This sends the audience in a split of laughter.

Both these songs which are called the item numbers of the films carry so much weight that even critics have to refrain from criticizing the film as the audience will go ahead  and disagree. For people who have seen these films are bound to agree that Malika Arora Khan and Katrina Kaif have done a very good job. They have both carried the film to a great success and of-course the directors knew the correct ingredients for a film to do well. The correct spice is a song and a dance number which sweeps the audience to their feet and makes them happy as they come out of the pains of the real world.

Farah Khan the choreographer for both films is aware of the popular movements and is able to load the song with the correct moves. Malika is a dancer herself and must have found it comparatively easy to shoot for the sequence while Katrina who is basically an actor trained for the belly dance moves to give the song the correct effect. Both have put up such a spectacular show that it will be the talk of town for sometime and a learning point for many choreographers and directors.

Madhuri Dixit to cook for SRK, Sallu and Aamir

On Monday night, Madhuri Dixit Nene recently launched Sanjeev Kapoor’s food channel in hotel Imperial. When she was asked if she is to throw a party at her home whom she would choose to invite, Madhuri named the three Khans of Bollywood, Aamir, Salman and  Shah Rukh Khan.

Let’s find out what is the reason behind choosing all the three Khans. She reasoned, 'First, I'll of course choose Shah Rukh Khan,' said Madhuri, 'because he always praises whatever I do.'

'Next, I'll choose Aamir Khan because he is going to analyse my cooking, and then point out how a particular dish could do with a little more of salt, etc. He's the analytical type, you see,' quips Madhuri.

And then I'll choose Salman Khan because he's simply going to come and ask for the food without any ado.'

Madhuri revealed that when she used to do films, she was dull about cooking but after getting married, she learnt cooking and today she enjoy cooking with her husband Sriram Nene who is also a very good cook. In the US, they used to party with friends and try each other’s recipes.

Priyanka says she is No. 1

By offering 'Saat Khoon Maaf', Vishal Bharadwaj has transformed Priyanka Chopra's filmy career. Her career graph rose to tremendous height. She will be counted one among numero uno actresses of Bollywood. The film is yet to hit the marquee but her performance is applauded. Piggy Chops has given numerous hits through out her career but she is least bothered about polls and votes and considered herself as No. 1 actress of Bollywood.
Discussing her journey so far in the film industry, Priyanka said, "From my first film to ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’, I consider myself the No. 1 actress. I don`t believe in poll results and surveys. For me, I am the No. 1."
Seeing her work in SKM, Piggy Chops is garnering all applause from Bollywood circles. Expressing how good she feels when being applauded for her work, Priyanka said “Yes of course they do. You feel good when someone says something good about you, your work. But at the same time, I know what I am. I know my work and I know where I stand.”
For the actress, ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ is like any other films and she feels pride to be part of it. She said, “I can`t be objective about my films. For me, it is the film! It is perfect.”

Sonali denies going pantyless

The pantyless report about Sonali Bendre that is doing around the media has left Sonali Bendre and her family in highly disturbed state. The actress rubbishes the report and blames media for the misinformation.

However Bendre's spokesperson has denied the story clarifying, "There is no truth to the story which has left both Sonali Bendre and her family highly grieved and disturbed". Her spokesperson also denies the quotes of Sonali published in the news report. 

"Sonali belongs to a respectable family, is a mother and has always shared a very warm and cordial relationship with the media".

"We would like to elucidate to all concerned that the story is fabricated by vested interests that aim to damage her reputation and hence request you to not credit it or encourage it".

Highly upset Sonali decided to take legal actions against those who framed this juicy story and defame her.

Indian’s sexiest Man

The popular magazine Marie Claire has tagged Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan as India’s sexiest Man. This special valentine issue, Hrithik will scorch the cover page with his killer looks.

Since it is Valentine Day’s special, hritik roshan will speak about love. Speaking about love, the handsome actor stated, “Love should be the first emotion you discover and learn and grow with”.

Like many superstar, Hrithik Roshan will also make his foray into television with dance reality show on Star Plus, ‘Just dance’. He will be paid 2 cr per episode.

Bhumika's marriage comes to an end

Bhumika Chawla’s marriage is on the rock. She has filed divorce from husband Bharat Thakur. They are married for the last three years. The couple married after dating for four years. Bhumika is eager to break her marriage with Bharat after hearing Bharat's affair with a socialite.
Though Bharat tried to convince Bhumika that those rumors are baseless, the actress refused to agree. He tried his level best to save the marriage but Bhumika is strict on her decision.
For a long time, the couple was not spotted together. Bhumika Chawla and Bharat Thakur married on 21 October 2007 at Devlali, Nashik in a Gurdwara.
